I'd honestly never thought I'd be making this or using this product. I spend most days working in the sun on our farm and I didn't think it would be possible to use an all natural deodorant in TEXAS :D :P I worked hard trying some different recipes and finally tweaking this product to the point that I feel great about putting the Lone Star Slick name on it!

Simple organic and all natural ingredients sourced from only the best manufacturers. Natural oils and butters mixed with high grade essential oils this is a simple yet hard working deodorant.

Container is oversized. This product is handmade and poured right into the containers then oils are added so deodorant will not be to top of container but be rest assured you are receiving the correct amount.

Underarm odor is stinks (pun intended), but the toxins found in common deodorants is a heck of a lot scarier! There are lots of great reasons to use a "natural" deodorant; like if you have sensitive skin, have sworn off fake and synthetic chemicals, or like the idea of natural, aluminum-free deodorant for excessive sweating. Essential oils can reduce sweating and smelly armpits so why rely on the chemicals found in store bought deodorants.

This is a supersize container compared to that most deodorants on the market are in the 2 ounce range and ours is a whopping 4 ounces. Most natural deodorants on the market are between $7-$10 for a 2 ounce container and some still have "questionable ingredients".

You will only need about a pea sized little scoop on your finger and rub it into your armpits like you would lotion. You can apply once a day or more if you feel you need it but I honestly do it once. Remember the goal here is to not have any odor and not smell like a perfume factory. The scents or oils used to make the item do have a scent but it is not like a bar of say "old spice" :D

WHY GO ALUMINUM FREE?
Studies suggest that the use of aluminum-based antiperspirants/deodorants may be linked to breast cancer and other medical issues. Aluminum plugs the body's sweat glands and prevents sweating, but in the process, it can also be absorbed transdermally. There are lots of other concerns out there regarding aluminum in deodorant but if you are here looking at this product you've probably read up on the internet already about the issues.

THINGS COMMONLY FOUND IN REGULAR DEODORANTS:

Aluminum – Evidence links aluminum to cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease

Phthalates– Endocrine disrupters are often found in plastic that can cause hormone imbalance and even infertility, especially in men

Propylene glycol– Common name: antifreeze. It is a debated additive in personal care products but the Environmental Working Group reports that it carries a moderate risk of immunotoxicity and allergies

Formaldehyde- A known carcinogen… guess it kills the naughty germs though :D :P

Parabens- A hormone disruptor and parabens have been found in biopsied tissue with breast cancer

Antibacterial Substances- They are endocrine disruptors and can negatively affect the immune system



SCENTS????
ORIGINAL (Not Scented) - The ingredients used to make this item do have a scent but it's not added to the recipe to be a "perfume or cologne". I find personally that I mostly smell a slight scent of tea tree and lavender even though other essential oils are used.

We are offering this in additional "scented" recipes that are made for their unique properties that may benefit folks wanting something more scented.
